Social media influencer and motivational speaker Shivam Malik has warned people about a new type of scam happening on WhatsApp. In a video posted on Instagram, Shivam told his followers to be very careful when they receive photos from unknown numbers with a message that says, “Do you know him?”

He explained that the scam looks simple, but it is actually very dangerous. According to Shivam, people are getting a photo from an unknown number. Along with the photo, there is a small message asking, “Do you know them?” Most people get curious and think that they don’t know the person in the photo. So, they end up downloading the image.

But Shivam warned that this is where the trouble starts. As soon as someone downloads the image, a virus enters their phone. This virus can steal all the personal data on the phone. It can take money from bank accounts, copy private photos, videos, contacts, and even important documents stored on the phone.

Shivam said that this trick is being used by hackers in India. Many people have already been scammed like this. He explained that the hackers are using a special technology called Steganography. In this method, dangerous software (called malware) is hidden inside the image itself. When someone downloads the image, the hidden malware gets installed on the phone without the user even knowing about it.

“It is very important to share this message with everyone,” Shivam said in his video. He advised people to never download any image or file from unknown numbers on WhatsApp. “Even if the message looks innocent, don’t fall for it,” he added.

The warning has gone viral on social media, and many people are thanking Shivam for spreading awareness. Cyber experts have also confirmed that such scams do happen and that Steganography is a real technique used by cybercriminals to fool people.
