'Denzong Menlom Chenmo' Buddha Purnima celebrations begin with prayers for global peace

The "Denzong Menlom Chenmo" Buddha Purnima celebrations began on May 11 at Buddha Park in Ravangla with prayers for global peace and harmony. The event, which has drawn participants from around the world, was led by the respected Sangter Tulku Rinpoche.
The Buddha Purnima celebrations, which honor the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Lord Buddha, are a significant occasion for spiritual reflection and unity. This year, the celebrations are even more special as they include a focus on the importance of peace in the world.
The opening ceremony was attended by MLA Shri Riksal Dorjee Bhutia, who joined devotees in offering prayers for peace and compassion. In his remarks, Shri Bhutia emphasized the importance of Lord Buddha’s teachings in today’s world, where peace is needed more than ever.
"Lord Buddha’s teachings have always been a beacon of hope for humanity. Today, as we gather to celebrate Buddha Purnima, we also pray for peace, love, and understanding among all nations and people," said Bhutia.
