Today marks the 13th Foundation Day of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), a day that stands as a powerful reminder of Sikkim's courageous struggle against tyranny and injustice. On this occasion, SKM celebrates its commitment to the people of Sikkim and reaffirms its dedication to justice, progress, and empowerment.
The journey of SKM began during a time when Sikkim was under the shackles of a dictatorial regime. It was a period where hope seemed distant, but the formation of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, fueled by courage and conviction, became the beacon of freedom and justice for the people. Today, as the party marks its 13th anniversary, it is a testimony to the collective strength and resilience of the Sikkimese people.
The leaders of SKM extended their warmest congratulations to the people of Sikkim, expressing deep gratitude to their dedicated workers and supporters, known as Karyakartas, whose tireless efforts have been the backbone of the party's success and growth. "I pledge that every moment of my life remains devoted to the service of our dear and respected people of Sikkim," remarked an SKM leader.
Since the formation of the party, SKM has worked relentlessly towards creating a more inclusive, fair, and prosperous Sikkim. The party’s vision has been to create opportunities for all citizens, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey of progress.
Under the leadership of SKM, significant reforms have been introduced since 2019, including the CM Medical and Education Assistance Schemes, which have made healthcare more accessible and helped students pursue higher education. Empowering initiatives like Sikkim Ama Sashaktikaran Yojana and Vatsalya Yojana have uplifted women and families, while the Mega Homestay Project has provided a boost to local entrepreneurs and the tourism sector.
The SKM-led government has also emphasized youth entrepreneurship, social welfare, and sustainability, paving the way for a brighter future. The party's slogan “Sunaulo, Samriddha, Samarth Sikkim” reflects its commitment to a peaceful, prosperous, and empowered Sikkim.
As SKM celebrates its foundation day, it also looks forward to Sikkim’s Golden Jubilee and the 75th Republic Day of India in 2025. With a renewed commitment to working together as TEAM SIKKIM, the party envisions a united Sikkim, where every citizen actively participates in shaping the state's future.
