Sikkim: Pakyong hosts monthly meeting to tackle drug abuse and trafficking

The District Level Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) held their monthly meeting today at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong. The session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rohan Agawane and attended by key officials and representatives from various departments and organizations.

Present at the meeting were Dhan Maya Subba, SP Pakyong; PR Dulal, RTO Pakyong; Bhakti Pd Sharma, Joint Director of the Education Department; SP Bhutia, Divisional Forest Officer (Territorial); Virendra Singh, Deputy Commandant of the SSB; Sunita Dahal, Welfare Officer of the Social Welfare Department; and KK Sharma, ADO Agriculture. Representatives from the Health Department, Sarathi Organisation, and the Samaritan Rehab Centre Pakyong also participated.

The agenda focused on reviewing the resolutions of the previous meeting and discussing strategies to strengthen the district's fight against drug abuse and trafficking. DC Agawane led the review of ongoing directives, with updates provided by various departments on their initiatives and progress.
