The Sikkim Legislature has introduced the Swastik University, Sikkim, Bill 2025, aiming to establish a world-class higher education institution in the state. The proposed university, sponsored by the Tend Education Foundation, Delhi NCR, will be set up at Martam-Rumtek in Gangtok district.

The bill highlights the need for modern research and skill development facilities to equip students with industry-relevant expertise. The university will offer programs in hospitality, tourism, business, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and other emerging fields through formal, non-formal, and online education modes.

The bill also defines the university's governance structure, including the Chancellor, Academic Council, Board of Management, and Finance Committee. It outlines the affiliation process, financial framework, and compliance with regulatory bodies like AIU, DCI, INC, and NMC.

Once enacted, the Swastik University Act 2025 will pave the way for advanced education and skill development opportunities in Sikkim, aligning with the state's vision for academic excellence and economic growth.
